OPS Second Semester Learning Plan 2021

Re-Opening Options:

The health and safety of our students, staff, and families are our top priority. When the 2020-21 school year begins in our district, on-campus school will look much different than in previous years due to new health and safety measures. Each school district across Kentucky will be developing their own plans to reopen schools based on guidance from public health officials and state agencies, and plans may be updated as the situation evolves.

It is important to note that district plans must focus sharply on academic instruction to enhance student performance and address learning loss from the end of last school year. At the same time, our district will also do our best to maintain the extracurricular programs, clubs, and athletics that are so important to the physical, mental, and social well-being of our students.

For our district, we will be offering two options (A/B Model or Virtual Academy) that are outlined in greater detail on this site.

Students enrolled in the Virtual Academy will experience online learning with identified support and contact with Owensboro Public School teachers and opportunities for acceleration and enrichment.

At this time, both models are at full capacity and therefore we cannot allow any further changing between the two, including A/B days.
